We recently completed a bespoke banquette seating installation for St Paul’s Cathedral School, supplying a series of custom fluted back booth seating units designed to enhance both the functionality and visual character of the space.

The project featured our bespoke fluted back banquette seating upholstered in Chieftain Fabrics’ Just Colour – Ocean Blue fabric, a bold yet sophisticated finish that brought warmth, colour, and texture into the interior. The rich ocean blue upholstery worked particularly well against the surrounding architectural finishes, helping to create a more inviting and contemporary seating environment for students and staff alike.

Project Overview: Banquette Seating for a Modern Educational Space

The layout was designed to maximise usable seating capacity while maintaining clear walkways and a clean, cohesive overall appearance throughout the area. By combining multiple straight booth sections with a bespoke right-handed corner configuration, the seating arrangement was able to make efficient use of the available floor space whilst still feeling open and comfortable.

For this installation, we supplied:

2x 1050mm Booth Units
6x 1800mm Booth Units
1x Right-Handed Square Corner Set

Each unit was manufactured in-house at our UK workshop using solid hardwood internal framing and high-density contract-grade foams, ensuring the seating was suitable for the demands of a busy educational environment. As with all of our commercial seating projects, durability and long-term performance were key considerations throughout the build process.

The fluted back detailing added a strong visual identity to the installation, introducing depth and rhythm across the seating run without overpowering the surrounding interior. This style of vertical fluting has become increasingly popular across hospitality, workplace, and education settings due to its balance of classic detailing and modern design appeal.
